Elton John and Madonna have reconciled after a decades-long feud.
Their conflict began in 2002 when Elton criticized Madonna’s “Die Another Day” as “the worst Bond tune ever.” In 2004, he accused her of lip-syncing during live performances. The rift persisted for years, with public exchanges of harsh remarks.
The reconciliation occurred backstage over the weekend at Saturday Night Live, where Elton was performing. Madonna attended with the intention to confront him. Upon meeting, John immediately said, “Forgive me,” leading to an emotional embrace.
Madonna reflected on Instagram about John’s influence on her during her youth and emphasized the “transformative power of music.” She expressed that forgiveness is a “powerful tool.”
Elton expressed interest in collaborating, revealing he had written a song for her.
