Rihanna fans have been eagerly awaiting new music for years, and while she hasn’t set a release date yet, she promises it will be worth the wait.
In a recent interview, she addressed the delay, saying, “It has to count. It has to matter. I have to show them the worth in the wait. I cannot put up anything mediocre. After waiting eight years, you might as well just wait some more.”
Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna revealed she has finally found the direction for her next project, saying she “cracked the code” and feels confident about it. She hinted that the new music will be unexpected, describing it as something that won’t be “commercial or radio digestible,” but rather a true reflection of where she is artistically right now.
Her last album, Anti, was released in 2016, and while fans may have to wait a little longer, Rihanna’s vision suggests that when it finally arrives, it will be something truly special.
