The nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2025 have been revealed, and this year’s list includes a mix of first-timers and long-overdue legends.
First-time nominees:
- Bad Company
- The Black Crowes
- Joe Cocker
- Billy Idol
- Maná
- Outkast
- Phish
- Chubby Checker
Chubby Checker, now 83, has been vocal about his desire for induction. He famously took out a full-page ad in Billboard in 2001 to plead his case and even protested outside the ceremony in 2002. With classic hits like The Twist, Let’s Twist Again, and Limbo Rock, many feel his nomination is long overdue.
Returning nominees:
- Mariah Carey
- Joy Division/New Order (debate is already brewing about whether they should count as one or two nominees)
- Cyndi Lauper
- Oasis
- Soundgarden
- The White Stripes
The final Class of 2025 inductees will be announced in April, with the official induction ceremony taking place next fall in Los Angeles. Who do you think should make the cut this year?
