Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande are among the nominees for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, announced Monday morning. Both artists were recognized in the Best Supporting Actress category for their roles in Emilia Pérez and Wicked, respectively.
Gomez earned two nominations: Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Netflix’s Emilia Pérez and Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.
In a video shared on Instagram, Gomez reacted emotionally to the news, tearing up as her name was announced. She captioned the clip, “Dreams can come true,” and thanked Emilia Pérez director Jacques Audiard, saying she felt “indebted” to him. She also posted a separate video expressing gratitude for her Only Murders in the Building nomination, saying, “I can’t believe it.”

Ariana Grande’s performance as Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked earned her a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. Wicked also received nominations for star Cynthia Erivo, cinematic and box office achievement, and best motion picture, musical or comedy.
Grande spoke to the Hollywood Reporter following the news of their nominations saying, “It’s just so surreal and I just feel so deeply grateful. We were just very immersed in the work and I was so grateful to have the chance to do the work and I was so excited to do the work every single day. From the lead-up to my first audition to the last day on set on both of the films, I was leading with deep gratitude every day. And we were doing our best, Cynthia and I both, just to stay present in the work with each other. And I just feel so proud and grateful as a friend, as a partner in this, with Cynthia and as a literal citizen of Oz, everyone poured their entire hearts into this and every single detail, every layer of it is felt. And I don’t know, I’m just so grateful. It’s hard to articulate.”
The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5th from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+. Comedian Nikki Glaser will host the event.
Congratulations to all the nominees!
