September 11, 2023 marks 22 years since the 9/11 attacks.

Like everyone, I remember where I was the moment I saw the first plane hit the Twin Towers.  I remember the feeling of disbelief, followed by fear and anger.  I also remember the feeling on 9/12 of the country coming together to mourn the lives lost and honor the brave first responders.

Just a few months after the 9/11 attacks, the country was getting back to “normal.”  The late-night talk shows resumed, the first baseball game in NY took place, and 5 months after 9/11, the New England Patriots and St. Louis Rams faced off in Super Bowl XXXVI.

During the game, Budweiser aired a powerful commercial featuring their iconic Budweiser Clydesdales.  The clip features no words, just somber music as the horses make their way to NCY and bow down with the city’s skyline in the distance.

While it was never shown again on television, it does live on YouTube.

Budweiser released an updated version of the ad on September 11, 2011, for the memorial’s tenth anniversary, as seen below.
