Ed Sheeran Announces Second Album Of 2023, ‘Autumn Variations’

Ed Sheeran has been dropping hints on social media about a new project and revealed Thursday that he is relating his second album in just six months.

Autumn Variations will be released on September 29th. It was produced by Aaron Dessner, the guitarist for the National who also frequently works with Taylor Swift. He was also the producer of Subtract, the album that Sheeran released on May 5th. Sheeran also revealed the 14-song track list for Autumn Variations and its cover, which is filled with small illustrations of things that Sheeran associates with fall.

“Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head, or imploded,” Sheeran said in a statement. “When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on.”

The record drops a week after Sheeran’s current Mathematics world tour ends its North American leg in Los Angeles on September 23rd — the first day of autumn.
