Get free admission to a National Park this Friday (Aug. 4) to celebrate the anniversary of the Great Americans Outdoors Act.
The GAOA was signed in 2020 and brought bipartisan investments to “improve visitor experiences, bolster climate resilience, and invest in the economy by creating good-paying jobs,” according to the Department of the Interior.
The free days only cover the entrance fees to the parks and do not cover the costs of certain activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
The next two free admission days are Sept. 23, National Public Lands Day, and Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
On five days in 2023, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission.
