Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings will guest-host the first new episodes of the game show following the death of beloved host Alex Trebek.
A permanent replacement host will not be named yet. For now, the show will continue with a variety of guest hosts. Between December 21st and the 28th, Jeopardy! will air 10 of Trebek’s best episodes. The last episodes that he filmed will air the week of January 4th.
Executive producer Mike Richards said, “Alex believed in the importance of Jeopardy! and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him. We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved with smart contestants and challenging clues. By bringing in familiar guest hosts for the foreseeable future, our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our viewers.”
We will resume production on 11/30 with a series of interim guest hosts from the Jeopardy! family – starting with Ken Jennings. Additional guest hosts to be announced. pic.twitter.com/0MdGqnzp3R

There will only ever be one Alex Trebek, but I'm honored to be helping Jeopardy! out with this in January. https://t.co/2m2b5IQnkw

Dane Cook also revealed that he has been approached to guest host an episode.
I got a call from my team today about guest hosting an episode of @Jeopardy and would I be interested in that if they can put something together. I could barely spit out, “WHAT IS.. YES?” quick enough.
I hope this can happen.
I would love to honor Alex Trebek in that fashion!
