George Stephanopoulos has been diagnosed with the coronavirus as wife, Ali Wentworth is recovering from the illness after contracting it last month.

The Good Morning America anchor, 59, revealed his diagnosis on the show Monday, and says that he hasn’t had any of the classic symptoms.

Stephanopoulos said, “I’ve never had a fever, never had chills, never had a headache, never had a cough, never had shortness of breath. I’m feeling great.”

He told his co-anchors Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts that it was “no surprise” that he contracted the virus because he was in such close quarters with his wife, as he was caring for her during her battle with the virus.

He said that he got tested expecting for it to be negative, considering he didn’t have any obvious symptoms.

He explained further, “ There was one night, several weeks ago, when I went to bed early with some lower back pain and I thought it was from a hard workout that day, and it cleared up the next morning. Then several days after that I had one day when I had a diminished sense of smell, but that was it for my symptoms over the last several weeks.“

He did reveal that his wife is feeling a lot better since going public with her diagnosis on April 1st.
