Got leftover Halloween candy? Hampton Roads Book Exchange is kicking off a Candy Exchange from November 1st through November 10th, 2024, giving kids a chance to trade in their extra sweets for books!
Here’s how it works: kids can bring in their unwanted Halloween candy to any participating Book Exchange location and receive $0.10 store credit per piece, up to $5 per child per day. This credit can be used toward any in-store purchases, encouraging young readers to dive into new adventures. Children must be present for the exchange, and store credit can only be redeemed at one location per day.
The best part? All the candy collected will be donated to local nonprofits, including the incredible folks at Connect With a Wish, who support children in foster care.
