Adele has announced that she will be stepping away from the music scene for an “incredibly long time” following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November. The Grammy-winning artist shared the news with fans during her final night at her Munich residency on Saturday, expressing her desire to take a much-needed break.
“I have really enjoyed performing for three years, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I will ever do,” Adele told the audience. She added, “I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break… I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”
Adele’s residency in Las Vegas will run from October 25th to November 23rd, after which she plans to step back from the spotlight. This announcement doesn’t come as a complete surprise, as the singer hinted in July that she had no immediate plans for new music and was looking forward to taking a significant break to pursue other creative endeavors.
Fans will surely miss Adele’s presence in the music world, but her decision to take time for herself is a reminder of the importance of self-care and living life beyond the stage. As she takes this well-deserved hiatus, her legacy and music will continue to resonate with audiences around the world.
