Carrie Underwood is returning to her Idol roots. The country singer is set to replace Katy Perry on American Idol.
According to Variety, Carrie — who won Season 4 of the show — will join Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie for Season 23 of the hit reality competition series.
The first round of auditions for season 23 of Idol begin on August 12th in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
