Train appeared on The View yesterday, and singer Pat Monahan revealed that they’ve been writing the music for a stage version of the 2013 musical-comedy Begin Again, which starred Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.
He didn’t provide any additional details about the project, including whether anyone from the movie is involved. As for the timeline, he says “it’s really close.”
In the movie, Knightley played a singer-songwriter who partners with a struggling record exec (Ruffalo) to record an album in public locations throughout New York City. The film’s stand-out song “Lost Stars,” earned a Best Original Song nomination at the Oscars for Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
Many of the movie’s songs were written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois (from the ’90s rock group New Radicals).
