The MTV Video Music Award took place on Tuesday evening (September 12nd), live from Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Center, celebrating all genres from pop, to hip-hop, to latin music and beyond.
N’SYNC reunited to give away the award for Best Pop award to Taylor Swift creating one of the most talked about moments during the show.
After accepting the award from the former boy band members, she fangirled telling the guys she had their dolls when she was younger before grilling them on their reunion.
“Are you doing something? What’s gonna happen now? . . . They’re gonna do something and I need to know what it is!” she gushed.

Justin Timberlake also had a viral moment backstage with Megan Thee Stallion, which people thought was a heated moment. Megan later clarified the moment sharing a video on TikTok saying, “I just talk with my hands lol”

The four-hour broadcast was loaded with performers, including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, Kelsea Ballerini, Metro Boomin, Olivia Rodrigo, and LL Cool J. . . who was part of an all-star 50th anniversary Hip-Hop medley.
Taylor Swift did NOT perform, but not surprisingly, she had a big night. She was named Artist of the Year, and “Anti-Hero” won Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, and Best Direction.
Nicki Minaj won Best Hip-Hop for “Super Freaky Girl”, and Ice Spice won Best New Artist.
Shakira received the Video Vanguard Award, and Diddy received the Global Icon Award.
