Taylor Swift Wins Big at American Music Awards; Complete List of Winners
Taylor Swift won big at the American Music Awards Sunday night.
She won all six awards she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year. The only other multiple winners, with two apiece, were Kendrick Lamar, BTS, Harry Styles, and Bad Bunny.
The legendary Lionel Richie took home the Icon Award, presented by Smokey Robinson. Stevie Wonder and Charlie Puth took to dueling pianos to pay tribute to him, then invited a number of the night’s stars onstage for “We Are the World.”
Other highlights:
Host Wayne Brady turned in a couple of memorable performances, including a freestyle rap where he asked audience for words to work into his verses.
Pink opened the show on roller skates doing her single “Never Gonna Not Dance Again.” Later in the show, she paid tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John with “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”
Machine Gun Kelly won Favorite Rock Artist but will probably be remembered more for his spiky suit — which he joked was difficult to go to the bathroom while wearing.
Carrie Underwood took a page out of the Pink book and dropped from the ceiling on a trapeze apparatus while singing “Crazy Angels.”
