Butter boards are spreading across TikTok to Instagram.
The viral videos show users spreading softened butter onto a board and topping it with goodies like olive oil, roasted tomatoes, and honey.
The new take on a charcuterie board was created by chef Josh McFadden and made popular after food blogger Justine Doiron, who shared a now-viral recipe on Instagram.

In a corresponding blog post, Doiron wrote that the butter board “is just a fun way to have a new appetizer or starter on your table” adding that “it’s way more affordable than a charcuterie board” and “comes out like a show stopper.”
