Justin Timberlake has sold his entire song catalog for a reported $100 Million to a company called Hipgnosis Song Management.
The deal only covers Justin’s publishing rights, not his recording rights, which means it is only for songs he wrote or co-wrote like ‘SexyBack’, ‘Rock Your Body’, and ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’.
Since JT wasn’t a songwriter on NSYNC’s hits like ‘Bye Bye Bye’ and ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’, they are not included in the sale.
Although the exact dollar figure behind the deal has not been disclosed, according to The Wall Street Journal, it is valued upwards of $100 million for around 200 songs.
In a statement (via Rolling Stone), Timberlake said: “I am excited to be partnering with [Hipgnosis’s CEO and founder] Merck [Mercuriadis] and Hipgnosis – he values artists and their creative work and has always been a strong supporter of songwriters and storytelling. I look forward to entering this next chapter.”
