Four bears were spotted in a tree Monday (December 27th) in Chesapeake on Bruin Drive, just down the street from Western Branch High School (home of the Bruins).
The momma bear and her three cubs were spotted in the tree around 3 a.m. and residents were asked to stay in their homes until crews from Chesapeake Animal Services and personnel from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources can safely remove the bears.
Officials gave an update on social media saying, “A conservation officer will be on scene and roads will be closed until further notice. (Hopefully giving space, quiet, and time will allow them to be able to leave the area)”
