Two athletes from Chesapeake are representing Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics: Michael Cherry and Grant Holloway.
Cherry will compete in the Track and Field Event(s): 400-meter, 4×400-meter relay. The Oscar Smith High School grad is a World Champion, winning Gold in 2019 and Silver in 2018.
He recently appeared via Zoom on our sister station, ESPN Radio 94.1’s, Saturday Sports Talk to discuss his journey to the Summer Olympics.
Grant Halloway is a Grassfield High School alum set to compete in 110-Meter Hurdles. Holloway is a two-time finalist for The Bowerman award and Eight-time NCAA Champion. This will be his first trip to the Olympics.
